Below are the Autism services that we offer. Please note that where appropriate, some of these services can be conducted in a physical setting or via video/telephone call.

Assessment

Pre-assessment

We strongly advise that where there is uncertainty about autism, that a pre-assessment is conducted first. This is an information gathering session which allows us to determine whether an autism assessment is appropriate. If other assessments are needed first, you will be directed to the relevant professionals. In order to give a diagnosis of autism, other factors/contributors to the needs must be ruled out first.

Autism Assessment

This is the gold standard diagnostic assessment to determine if the service user has Autism Spectrum Condition. The assessment includes a feedback session which includes recommendations of support.

Post Diagnostic Support

This follow up support aims to help both the service user and their network to understand the diagnosis given and what this means for them. Strategies and programmes to support will be provided which will be created specifically for the service user based on their own strengths and needs.

Additional interventions can be provided based on the initial assessment.

School/Workforce Training

Bespoke training packages are created based on the needs of the school staff/employers. Topics may include:

  • Identifying autism and when to refer for assessment.
  • Exploring the difference between autism and attachment difficulties.
  • Autism and masking (What to do when a parent describes traits of autism at home but none have been observed at school).
  • The female presentation of autism.

All trainings include easy to implement support/strategies at a universal, targeted and specialist level.

Training on specific interventions to support some of the needs associated with autism is also available to staff delivering interventions.

Other trainings are available; the above gives a brief overview of what you can expect to access.

Individual Parent Sessions/Workshops

Individual parent/carer sessions or workshops can be accessed with the aim to support families with understanding autism diagnoses and specific strategies that can be used in the home environment.
